Malaria is a serious disease caused by a parasite. Infected mosquitoes spread it. Malaria is very common throughout the world. In the United States, the main risk is to persons traveling to tropical and subtropical countries where malaria is a problem. There are four different types of malaria caused by four related parasites. The most deadly type occurs in Africa south of the Sahara Desert. The symptoms characteristic of malaria include fever, chills, muscle aches, and headache. Cycles of chills, fever, and sweating that recur every 1, 2 or 3 days are typical. The treatment for malaria depends upon the geographic area where a person has been infected with the disease. Different areas of the world have malaria types that are resistant to certain medications. Mosquito control is the best solution in the prevention of the malaria. The reason is that the mosquitoes are the vectors for the parasites that cause malaria. While feeding on the blood of the human being, these mosquitoes transfer the parasites, thus causing in malaria. At present there is no vaccine available that can prevent the malaria. There is nothing to worry, as serious research is on to find one. Till then mosquito eradication and protecting oneself from the mosquito bite is the only possibility. Of course the cost of preventing malaria is much less than treating the same in the long run. But preventing the malaria is not all that easy. The reason is the omnipresence of mosquitoes. Eradication of mosquito is not at all easy; every one will know this fact. All around the world, malaria can be a very serious problem.-especially in areas where mosquitoes are plentiful, since they are one of the main sources of passing the disease on. An estimated 700,000 people die each year from the debilitating disease, so this is at the utmost urgency. We have all witnessed the distressing images of impoverished people in malaria-ridden lands dying of the disease. Researchers have recently genetically engineered a new kind of mosquito- one completed resistant to the malaria. The test conducted forced mosquitoes to feed on malaria-infected mice. Some of the mosquitoes were resistant, and those were saved. From this singling out, scientists could study and genetically alter/breed new mosquitoes that were resistant to the disease. Taking action to prevent mosquito bites is the first step in preventing malaria from affecting the children of Angola. Hanging a mosquito net over a bed that keeps mosquitoes away from sleeping children is one way to prevent mosquito bites. The mosquitoes still get into the house, though. Another solution is to cover the open windows with screen mesh so that malaria bearing mosquitoes don't enter the house at all. Just putting a screen mesh over the outside of the window can prevent mosquitoes from invading a hut and can keep children safe from malaria. The treatment of malaria consists of anti-malarial drug administration and supportive therapy. Complete cure is possible if proper treatment is followed for prolonged period. (at least 4 weeks)Chloroquine was in use for so long and is not so popular now. The reason is the development of resistant strains of plasmodium for chloroquine. Hence chloroquine is of no use in Asia and Africa where the plasmodium infections are common. In other places where the plasmodium infections are not common, the same drug is still effective. The resistant strains [for chloroquine] have reduced sensitivity to amodiaquines and quinine too, very unfortunate is it not. Symptoms of Malaria
The symptoms characteristic of malaria include fever, chills, muscle aches, and headache. Cycles of chills, fever, and sweating that recur every 1, 2 or 3 days are typical. There can sometimes be vomiting, diarrhea, coughing and yellowing (jaundice) of the skin and whites of the eyes. The treatment for malaria depends upon the geographic area where a person has been infected with the disease. Different areas of the world have malaria types that are resistant to certain medications. Malaria is a disease which can be transmitted to people of all ages. It is caused by parasites of the species Plasmodium that are spread from person to person through the bites of infected mosquitoes. Malaria is a parasitic disease that involves infection of the red blood cells.

Many women whose families are threatened by malaria cannot afford insecticide–treated mosquito nets. So Freedom from Hunger has convinced manufacturers and distributors to provide the nets at a substantially reduced cost (about $4 per net). Freedom from Hunger also arranged for local sources of appropriate and reliable anti-malarial drugs to be provided at reasonable prices to individuals when the disease strikes. Because Freedom from Hunger’s Malaria Initiative is layered onto a self-financing microcredit program, women gain sustainable access to credit to build home-based business, earning money to buy nets and pay for health services.

In normal circumstances it’s the female mosquito of the Anopheles species that bites someone and then passes on a parasite by the name of Plasmodium. Once this parasite is inside of you it travels in your blood till it reaches the liver, and from there it will enter the blood stream again where it attacks the red blood cells that feed oxygen around our bodies. Many of the diseases that affect the human body today are bad if not terrible. The last two decades have seen a lot of publicity about Aids with television coverage, and pop concerts yet Malaria goes by without a mention. Each year it is estimated that over 600 million people and children will suffer from Malaria, and at a guess the death rate is something up to 3 million.

Incubation periods for each type of malaria may vary if a person is taking infection-fighting medication or because some immunity from a previous infection exists. In regions where malaria is prevalent, residents may carry the disease but may not exhibit its symptoms due to an immunity or semi-immunity to it. The severity of symptoms can also vary depending on a person's general state of health and immune system. The time between a mosquito bite and the onset of symptoms is usually 7 to 21 days, but some types of malaria parasites take much longer to make their way through the bloodstream. When infection occurs through blood transfusion, which is very rare, the time of the onset of symptoms depends on the number of parasites transmitted through the transfusion.

The symptoms of early malaria, along with others that had nothing to do with malaria. Homeopathy is based on natural medicine (not antibiotics and synthesized substances) and the dosage is minute. One of the greatest reasons why homeopathy and herbal medicine are so popular is because they are not only used to treat a disease but they are used for prevention as well. You can also learn a lot about other forms of alternative medicine, acupuncture, art therapy, music therapy, light therapy, meditation, and many other ways through which you can strengthen both your body and your spirit.
