Viagra Vs Uprima - Working, Studies & Side Effects
Men who suffer from erectile dysfunction problem have many treatment options available today. But the two options, which prove to be effective, include Viagra therapy and Uprima therapy. Viagra is quite popular among men, as this pioneer drug helps men who find difficulty in achieving erection that is necessary for sexual intercourse. Uprima is not as popular as Viagra and is mostly used in the European markets.

Uprima contains an active ingredient known as apomorphine hydrochloride, which helps users achieve and maintain an erection as reliably as Viagra. Like Viagra, Uprima is also a prescription drug. Uprima was developed as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease but its healing effects showed erections among patients and its use in erectile dysfunction became more prominent. Uprima acts as a stimulant and is similar to morphine chemically. However, it does not show any effects similar to morphine. Uprima is widely prescribed by physicians in European countries for treating patients who suffer from impotence or erectile dysfunction. It was the first oral therapy to be approved by the European Commission for treatment patients who had erectile dysfunction problem. If compared with Viagra on a global level, this anti-impotence drug is still far behind.

Working of Viagra and Uprima

Uprima differs from Viagra in its working. This drug acts on a brain receptor known as dopamine, which is neurotransmitter that causes excitement in the brain. Viagra works on the pattern of enhancing nitric oxide in the body, affects the vascular system, and temporarily widens arteries, which result in blood regulation in and around penis. Uprima acts on the hypothalamus through the dopamine receptors in the brain. Hypothalamus is mainly the region responsible for initiating erections. Due to stimulation of the hypothalamus, body’s smooth muscle contractions are inhibited and this results in the flow of blood in and out of penis causing erection. Like Viagra, Uprima does not help to increase your sex drive. It is not an aphrodisiac and works only if you feel sexual stimulation.

Studies about Uprima and Viagra

Recent studies proved that intake of Uprima produced erections men who suffered from erectile dysfunction, about 70 to 90 percent of the time. Its reliability is same as Viagra. It has been clinically proved to help men achieve an erection two to three times faster than Viagra. Uprima shows effects within 15 to 30 minutes while Viagra usually takes between 30 minutes and an hour. The reason for fast effects of Uprima is that Uprima tablets usually dissolve under the tongue as these are taken sub lingually. Whereas you have to swallow whole Viagra tablet and it takes time to mix with blood stream. You can also take Uprima after meals.

Side effects of Uprima

Like Viagra, Uprima also has its side effects on the user. Men who suffer from medical conditions such as hypertension or heart problems should not take it. The most common side effects of Uprima include nausea, headache, and dizziness. These side effects are generally mild and are easily treatable.
