As an excessive blusher, you may have seen other people who struggle with the same thing. The man at the grocery store who turned beet red just while staring off into space. The woman at the mall who suddenly blushed for no apparent reason. You could tell that these weren't ordinary blushes that most people have every once in a while. You recognized that look in their eyes when they realized they were about ready to blush. The dread. The panic. They looked like they wanted to crawl into a hole or run. You probably have wanted to tell them they aren't alone. That you blush excessively too. But you just can't. You know how embarrassed you would feel if a stranger came up to you and started talking about blushing. You would feel even worse. So you just hope. Hope for them. Hope for you. Hope for everyone else.

If you want to reach out and connect with other people who suffer from excessive blushing, try finding other blushers online. Just because there isn't a big established support group out there doesn't mean that there aren't other excessive blushers who are also looking to connect. However, you will probably have to be a little more creative in your online search techniques in order to find them.

One great way to find any needle in the internet haystack is to use the advanced search options in your search engine. Most search engines have the option of searching for an entire phrase, requiring that a page includes certain words and excludes other words. Knowing how to take advantage of advanced search features can help you find anything you want online, whether it's other excessive blushers or something else entirely.

You can start out by doing an advanced search asking for a certain phrase such as "excessive blushing" or "blushing support" in order to find groups or larger websites discussing blushing.

You can also search on small conversational phrases that would be things you would say about blushing, such as "blush all the time", "anyone else a blusher" or "I'm a blusher". By doing this, your search engine can sometimes hit on conversations in message boards and support groups that are essentially unrelated to blushing. It could be a message board about public speaking or even a parenting group.

You can also search for things that are related to blushing even if you don't have a problem with those particular things, such as hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) or social anxiety.

For people you may come across out in the real world, you can keep some cards in your purse or wallet. You can use any word processing program and some blank card stock from an office supply store to create some cards at home. You may want to make the title say something like "I'm a Blusher Too." Include your email address and some websites you've come across that you've found helpful. (Be sure to follow good safety precautions and not give your phone number or address out to people you've just met.) By using these cards you can connect with people quickly when the setting is appropriate.
